Suspicious Fire Under Investigation At Westchester Residence

Authorities are investigating a blaze at a Northern Westchester residence that briefly shut down a roadway, police announced.

The incident happened on Thursday, Jan. 11 just after 7 a.m., when a suspicious fire occurred at a residence in Bedford Hills on McLain Street, according to Bedford Police Lt. Jeff Gulick. 

The fire was soon contained and put out, Gulick said, adding that the Bedford Police detective division responded to the scene and found that it was an isolated incident with no apparent threat to the public.

No injuries or property damage resulted from the incident. McLain Street was shut down for several hours as authorities conducted an investigation, but has since been reopened, Gulick said. 

No further information has yet been released.
